Temperature Rising Smaller Version by Stephen Way

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Temperature Rising is a work from my drawings on OSB ( Oriented Strand Board) Individual flakes within the sheet have been outlined and coloured in Black and Red Ink.
Permanent Sharpies Pen was used and the work sealed with Clear water Based Cabothane for protection.
Basically in two halves, the Red above the Black, shows burnt out bush with fire raging above, from an aerial perspective. I believe this work captures what is an all too often a scene in our Australian Summer seasons.

ARTIST BIO

Steve lives in Bondi with the beautiful Karen and has 2 grown children. He is a qualified  Physiotherapist and has a wide range of clinical experience. Mid career, Steve took up life drawing (thinking that knowing anatomy would help)..it did to some extent, however Steve learned that LD is 'the foundation of art'. He decided to further pursue art and considers himself very fortunate to attend the NAS in 'Darlo' ( '93,4,5) Three years well spent!

In that final year Steve's proposal for a 2m square painting for a major redevelopment project in Darling Harbour was selected in open competition ($5k prize) among fellow students. During the process Steve was asked to do a second work, a photo of which appeared in the Telegraph. The commissions were a major surprise and stimulus for him to continue with his endeavours.

Steve did continue for a short while but family and work commitments prevailed. He states,'no regrets there'

Now there is time, and Stephen is slowly getting back to doing what he does best, creative work. His best is sure to come.
