Edward Spessot was born in a small town in northern Italy, near the city of Venice. In 1950 he arrived in Australia to reside in Sydney’s North Shore. He was formally trained in sculpture under the tutelage of some of Australia’s finest sculptors, including Lyndon Dadswell and William Lamb. However it was his appreciation of the Australian landscape that led him back to his first passion of painting. The influence of his unique artistic background has seen his paintings awarded a number of prizes at art shows in Australia, with his paintings private collections both in Australia and overseas. |
