Jane Crowe.

I am an artist and colour is my passion!

I love visually beautiful scenes and have enjoyed amateur photography for years. I have always wondered how to translate what I see into art and, so,  took the plunge a few years ago translating photos to art.

I am largely self taught and am enjoying the freedom of painting and exploring art without following rules that are part of my everyday life.  I mainly paint with Acrylic on canvas, paper or wood panel..  

I have had some tuition in colour and abstract painting from Melbourne based artist Belinda Marshall who does the most beautiful abstract art!

I also have to credit my friend, Cathy Quinn, another talented accomplished Melbourne abstract artist ,for giving me some very helpful tips of the trade.

I get my inspiration for painting mainly from places I have travelled to locally (especially the Otway ranges) and from overseas.  So long as there is colour,  beauty and maybe a story to be told, I will be inspired!
