Art is a way of experimentation with creativity; I am particularly fascinated by the interaction of colour, in my paintings. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, such as pen and wash, watercolour and pastel. I am inspired by nature, cloud formation and Artists, particularly the impressionists Monet and Degas. I am fascinated by the effect of light as a reflection on water, and the effect shadows create on the windows of buildings.
Inspirations for my paintings have come from travelling in outback Australia the Kimberley region, Europe and Canada.
Pastel has been used for the series of ballet dancers. Pen and wash for the buildings. Watercolour and acrylic has been used for landscapes and seascapes. |
