My name is Lily. I was born in VietNam with lovely Vietnamese parent at NhaTrang beach. I draw my artistic inspiration from my Mum and Dad. My Dad collected a lot of art, including porcelain ornaments and Mum loved flowers.
After the war ended in Vietnam in 1975, I moved to Saigon and lived with my brothers and sisters until 1987. I then left Vietnam and went to Thailand. In 1989, I settled in Australia.
I attended high school and University in Melbourne. I worked for the ANZ Bank, then as a Public Service as an IT Analyst and Manager.
My hobbies include painting, sketching, playing piano, guitar and violin, dancing and swimming.
I started painting when I was 13, and have taken it up again. I have attended short courses over the last three years. I enjoy painting portraits like charcoal pastels.
Paintings by Ken Harris, Bob Ross and Wayne Clements have inspired me.
A local artist introduced me to the well-known artist Janet Knight and I took lessons with her in Acrylic, Oil, pastel and a little water color. I sometimes attended life drawings workshops.
I have had a few art pieces exhibited at Rotary art shows in Werribee, Hawthorn and locally at Joel’s art center in Altona. |
