ARTIST NOTES: This work depicts a row of seven lilac-breasted rollers, a brightly coloured species of bird found in sub-Saharan Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula. Their vivid plumage is unmistakable in its vibrancy, with both males and females alike displaying beautiful hues of soft lilac, azure blue, iridescent pinks and luminous golds.

North currently works and resides in Melbourne, Australia.
